Naturopathy, or Naturopathic Medicine, is the application of various techniques and guidance to achieve and restore good health by allowing the body to use it's own resources and mechanisms to self-heal.

Naturopathy looks at the whole person and treats the patient not the disease, therefore not suppressing the illness or issue at hand.
Nature has a healing power and by harnessing this in combination with reducing or removing the parts of your life that cause disharmony your therapist can help you reach optimum health. It is important that all aspects of a human being are taken into account, i.e. mental, emotional, physical, genetic, environmental and lifestyle facts all contribute to our health.
In your initial consultation, your therapist will take details of your medical history, lifestyle, diet and any medicines you may be taking. Your consultation may involve diagnosis by iridology (looking into the iris), and checking your tongue and nails for a more complete picture. Pathology tests may be advised.
A treatment plan is then built up so to give enhanced conditions to heal. Advise on lifestyle, diet, exercise may be given.
Naturopathy works very well alongside other treatments, e.g. Herbal and Homeopathic remedies. This will be discussed with you before any referral is made if it is thought to be necessary.
