Karen Erskine BSc(hons) LicAc MBAcC Acupuncturist in Winchester.
Karen trained as an acupuncturist at the College of Integrated College of Chinese Medicine. She was taught an integrated form of acupuncture- both Five Element and TCM styles. Five Element acupuncture focuses on the person who has the illness, and not just the illness itself, whilst Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the mainstream style of acupuncture practised in China. TCM focuses on the symptoms of a person's illness and is effective in treating a vast range of both physical and physiological problems. Karen believes that treating patients in this integrated style can lead to increased vitality and a greater zest for life. Karen has a particular interest in how acupuncture can restore a person's mental and emotional health, alongside bringing about positive changes in their physical health.
Also trained in reflexology and massage, Karen frequently uses these other therapies alongside acupuncture to restore health to her patients. One type of massage Karen uses alongside acupuncture is Tui Na. This form of massage works by using acupressure and other techniques to treat both acute and chronic musculoskeletal problems by getting the body's energy moving freely again.
Karen lives in Winchester and has a grown up family. A therapist for over 10 years, Karen has a gentle, caring approach to treatment, and provides the best possible care for her patients with her dedication and expertise. Karen constantly refines and updates both her practical skills and theoretical knowledge through Continuing Professional Development.
